What a team! I mean really!! When I think about this journey and the future I have, I am so amazed to have around me this team. From Mark Drohman my swing Doc to Scotty, Dan, Matt, Crystal, friends, family, and the incredible people that follow this blog and read it (please join:-).
For many years I thought I could do it all, but then that's a piece of my personality. It's the same personality that pushes me towards that desire to win. But winning with out a purpose doesn't do anything for me. I have to have purpose.
When I was in my twenties, and Crystal and I were recently married I worked at two jewelry stores. The first was much like a Jared's and the other was a high end, custom design shop. Both were good businesses and had a number of stores in the city where we lived. I worked hard to learn the trade and was studying gemology to advance my career. I was a top salesperson in the first store and I believed in the people who owned the stores. I was then hired to manage one of the high end, custom stores and I lost all interest. Why? I didn't connect, believe in, and understand their mission.
Today we have a team mission. It's to win but it's not just for the sake of winning. Our end goal is to build a foundation for widows and orphans. It's a team pursuing something, hopefully, bigger than ourselves. That's the driving force behind my pursuit/desire/dream. The cool thing is that both are my desires --- to play golf on tour and to raise up a foundation. I'm just hoping to knock down two pins with one ball.
