What Has Ten Legs and Says...

In beginning of this new journey (now entering my fifth season) I had to give up some things. I used to travel and speak to various size audiences on a variety of topics. Included in my talks I generally told stories. Stories of my life experiences or of others or even made up stories to place an exclamation to a point.
Interesting that I really don't care that much for public speaking. I'm not afraid of it, but I have found very few people that I really enjoy listening to pontificate over a topic. So, why would I want to have others listen to me? Unless it's a good story.

Stories have been a common history lesson in societies throughout the world. Stories that are passed down from generation to generation. I remember, after my fathers funeral, an extended group of family sat together and listened to the stories of my great uncle. Amazing stories that I had not heard before (make note to self to find tape) about my grandfather and his brothers. Stories about great grandparents and relatives, etc., etc., etc. I sat spell bound. I don't care if the stories are 100% accurate. What I do care about is that the heart of the story, the spirit of the tale is true and accurate. That we stay true to the heart and spirit and not become tangled to deeply in the technical aspects of the story.

A new year is before us, new stories will be lived and told. New days await us. Tell the stories of your life...
