It started with the plane ride from Sacramento through LA to Houston followed by what seemed to be a wonderful hotel bed but when I woke the first day I was sore and thought nothing of it, until after my practice round. I did some stretching that evening and thought that all was well. But when I woke the next morning, the first day of the tournament, I was in some pain that I couldn't explain. I spent the morning stretching and prepping for a 12:30pm tee time and went to the course with great hopes.
As I checked in for the event I realized that the drive from the hotel to the course had tightened things up even more...which brings the old song "do the tighten up" to mind although with a different understanding. Then it was off to warm up and stretch again to no avail.
That evening after having to withdraw from the tournament I did more stretching, more heat, more stretching, more heat, etc. until I could rest a bit through the night and then home in one of those lovely coach seats that I've grown to love (although it sure beats riding a camel across country).
A couple days later, some more stretching and a bit of rest and my back calmed down. It's not 100% although I was just in Iowa playing the Prequalifier for the Principal Charity Classic and my back held up fine. I believe it was a certain combination of muscles that once stretched properly and relaxed, released the clinch it held on my back. SO...all is good. Thanks for asking.
Oh, Iowa. A great tournament. I had a solid round. One of my best this season. I have been working hard on my putting and short game which was a great help and I also did some minor adjustments on my swing which gave way to better shot making.
But, let me whine for a moment...I think we were in the middle of a statewide tornado. We had some serious winds and in Vacaville we have a lot of wind so me saying that says something. I kept expecting Auntie Em and Toto to come flying out of Kansas. Fortunately, it was just good golf for me.
I'm contemplating my next tournament opportunity which could be Montreal with the Champions Tour, June 14. Be watching in the upper right hand column for info.
THANKS AGAIN EVERYBODY! SO GRATEFUL.
See ya on the course,
Byron

So glad to hear that your back is back. I suppose the high winds could be a good thing if they are going your way while playing right?
No need to answer that, just rhetorical.
No response... Hey Susie I just broke the 10,000 page views mark. That was fun. Being a fledgling blogger it feels good.
Congrats! That is wonderful!
