Some Like It Hot!

Hot or cold, what's your preference? Would you prefer to swelter in the hot and humid temperatures of say, Florida or the dry and undeniably hot summers of Phoenix? Or do you prefer the cold, windy and wet climates of  Scotland or Denmark?

Summers are odd experiences for golfers if you travel. I've had the joy of playing in all these climates this year from 46 degree, windy and rain, to 104, dry and thirsty. Which would you prefer on a regular basis?

Something Crystal Ask Me Never to Wear!
A lot of the top professional golfers go for Florida because of it's consistency in temperature and humidity. The courses are beautiful with a variety of course architecture. Some professionals prefer the Phoenix area, also a top golf destination. The winters are fab and since they travel most of the year they don't have to deal with the reverse cabin fever affect.

There is Southern California for some and then others go to where they grew up and love to be around their family no matter where that is. Tom Watson, is from Kansas City. Johnny Miller loves Northern California. Steve Stricker is from Wisconsin -- not known for it's great winter golf unless you like playing in snow shoes.

Me, I like mild temperatures for practicing and living. Santa Barbara would be one of these locations. I have traveled most of my working life. I have learned that our bodies are made to adjust to temperature changes within a day or two. That makes playing in humid temperatures attainable as much as playing in wet, cooler temps.

This week I'm home in Vacaville where it's running in the low 100's. By 2pm the courses are pretty much empty which gives me a great opportunity to practice. It also makes the post round club house air conditioning better than ever.

So wherever you are, enjoy the weather and make sure to...

Swing Hard and Look Up,
Byron
