Chris is from England and he has opened the first course in Germany that is open to the public. What that means is there is no handicap required to play. In Europe courses require a certain level of skill before you are allowed to play on the course. Chris has made his course open to all and designed it much like an English muni course.
The greens are small (if you have a large plate at home look at that and then go get a smaller one), rounded, and wet. Which made the greens play very strange. I hadn't played greens like this...ever! My ball striking was very good but my short game didn't catch up until the third day of the tournament about hole number 50 out of a 54 hole tournament. NOT GOOD for scoring.
Presently, I am in southern Germany enjoying some great weather and good golf. In one week I head to England (Gloucestershire) where I will be playing my next tournament with the Europa Senior Challenge Tour.
The guys on the tour are great. I was able to met and practice with several of the players. Great guys, good players, and I'm looking forward to meeting a few more of the players in England.
It looks like the tour is then headed for a 3 tournament stretch in Spain towards the end of November through the first of December. Hummm....will have to work on getting back for those.
Well, I hope you are doing well. Thanks for following and reading my little updates. I will do better at taking pictures. I just forget and get busy and yada yada yada....my bad!
Swing hard and look up!
Byron
