Merry Christmas

What a great time of the year. In Northern California the temperatures are running somewhere between 50 and 70 degrees which means it is very comfortable. But, this year I have had my Christmas already. Just two weeks ago I received my new set of custom fitted Mizuno irons and Cleveland driver.

I haven't had a great deal of time to practice as I've had two trips out of the country which was driving me crazy as my clubs sat waiting for me to return. Yea! But I did have a few days with them before I traveled and it was a great experience.

The day I received them I had returned from Nicaragua the night before and was not very patient to get to the driving range to give them their trial run. As I began swinging these clubs and practicing I realized that I wasn't having to think about making changes to my swing. They felt like a custom set of gloves that fit amazing. I have never felt anything like them.

Now when I go out to practice or play I am not having to adjust to the clubs I'm spending all my time working on my timing, rhythm and balance to my swing. YES!

This is making me ready for tournament play. I have to prepare for the next year but with these great Christmas presents...well, I'm chompin' to get out there.

My schedule is almost all prepared for 2008. I will be playing a variety of tournaments with the Canadian Tour, Nationwide Tour and even several attempts on the PGA Tour. I will also be attempting several Q-Schools in 2008.

As we look to Christmas and having just had 30 people over for Thanksgiving dinner I am very thankful for all that has happened this year and the many opportunities that have come my way. It is a season of great celebration. I would say it is one of the greatest opportunities to celebrate as we remember that amazing child and he being the reason we are celebrating.

I grew up in mid Missouri where December can be an odd weather month. But then there is a saying in Missouri that if you stay around for 15 minutes the weather will change. There wasn't much golf in December but at times it would clear up, turn 50 degrees and I would grab my clubs and spend as long as the sun would stay up.

Well, the sun is running at short order for a few weeks still but I will be out working on the game, readying for the new season and enjoying the blessing of my new clubs. I am thankful.
