Down the Right Path

I made the turn with a nice par on number 9. In fact it was the only par on that hole. As I stood on the 10th tee with a driver in hand I thought it might be a little to much club to hit as there was a small creek running across the fairway at the bottom of the hill.

That's the moment I had to make a choice to listen to that knowledge in side...that gentle voice and then trust the shot. I hit a high straight drive as a bit of concern came over me seeing it sail toward the creek. That gentle voice was now me screaming on the inside -- STOP YOU SILLY BALL!

It did. Not to worry. It was close, but a beautiful drive. As I stepped up to my approach shot to the green, 9 iron in hand I took aim but something pulled me off the shot. As I stood in question I realized the wind was coming stronger and would push the ball to the right. Aiming slightly left of my target I hit a high shot that once hitting its apex turned right with the wind, dropped on the green and ran 3 feet from the pin!

It was an easy putt for a birdie starting the round strong.

Thanks to all my sponsors who make this dream possible and for my on course golf partner who sends me down the right path.

Don't ask what the world needs.

Ask what makes you come alive and go do it.

Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Howard Thurman

Read this quote a few days ago and reading your post and feeling your joy reminded me of it.

Wow, that's a great quote. How do people come up with those...I guess he is doing what makes him come alive.
