Looking back on the old is a part of understanding how the new will move us forward and into new seasons and times of our lives. 2010, although not as full of tournaments as I desired, brought some wonderful opportunities, friendships, and revelation of the game.
I had my first opportunity to play a qualifier for the PGA TOUR. That's the big tour and simply to have this opportunity was a blast and one that is leading me into more in 2011. This coming year I will be playing qualifiers and pre-qualifiers on the Canadian, Nationwide, Champions and PGA Tours. I'm not limiting myself to one option but opening myself to new experiences and possibilities.
I met some great individuals this year. One is Tom from Australia. A long time professional, with a butter smooth swing, Tom and I spent a number of practice rounds together. I look forward to seeing him on the European Senior Tour this coming year.
I brought my game to a new place both in the physical aspects of my swing as well as mentally. I'm working hard on my short game, and 'they' say that is ongoing, but the greatest revelation has been the mental aspect of my game. There was a shift this year from how I approach tournaments and being on this journey. Which brings me to 2011....
....let's get this show on the road! I'm playing up and down the West coast, as well I'll be over in Arizona, Utah and Idaho this coming year. I'm going to play some great qualifiers, make some new friends and see some old ones along the way.
